About Us

Within the context of Universitas Hasanuddin’s participation in the TUNE project, the initiative aligns closely with the global commitment under Agenda 2030, where decent work is positioned as both a driver and an outcome of sustainable development. This direction is further reinforced by ASEAN’s declaration in 2018 to promote green jobs as a pathway to reducing environmental impacts through occupational transformation. In line with projections from the International Labour Organization, the transition toward decarbonisation is expected to generate up to 24 million green jobs by 2030, with a significant share emerging in Asia.

TUNE at Universitas Hasanuddin is implemented as a strategic response to these global and regional agendas, focusing on reforming higher education through the integration of green jobs education. The initiative aims to equip students with competencies that are environmentally sustainable and economically relevant, while also strengthening career advisory systems and job placement mechanisms to support transitions into green sectors. In addition, TUNE promotes curriculum enhancement and capacity building to ensure that graduates are prepared for a sustainable and inclusive future.

At the institutional level, TUNE Unhas emphasizes strengthening collaboration between academia and industry to better align educational outcomes with workforce needs. The project is structured around key components, including capacity analysis and training, institutional strengthening, strategic development at the ASEAN level, and ensuring quality, visibility, and effective project management. These components collectively support long-term, sustainable impacts in higher education transformation.

Furthermore, TUNE contributes to improving access to quality education, particularly for underrepresented groups, while enhancing the relevance of teaching and research to societal and economic needs. Through this approach, Universitas Hasanuddin is positioned not only as a knowledge provider but also as a driver of socio-economic and environmental value. Ultimately, TUNE supports ASEAN higher education institutions in developing adaptive curricula, fostering intercultural competence, and producing graduates with strong green skills, thereby improving employability at both national and international levels and contributing to a more sustainable regional future.
